༄ We are all in a lost age,

༄ In multiple national identities,

༄ He ⎯⎯⎯ struggled;

༄ In the chaos of digital information,

༄ I⎯⎯⎯ tangled;

༄ Because of loss, I drift.

༄ Even if you drift, you are building roots.

In the digital age, we scroll eagerly as if we lack information. What are we looking for? An interesting post? A viral video? A suitable partner? Or a text that you can empathize with? It may not be new, but it will always be a classic.

Re-reading #Wu Zhuoliu's novels in this era, the confusion and uncertainty he depicts in the books stir every soul, allowing us who are drifting in a complex network to think about the meaning of building roots.

This is a #literaturereading promotion event with the theme of Hakka literary master Wu Zhuoliu. We hope that through different types of participation such as reality games, short trips, lectures and exhibitions, readers will be encouraged to read the works of Wu Zhuoliu and other Taiwanese writers, or remember their faces and book titles, or even just know him/her.

The exhibition is curated by Difangzei, a writer who also expresses self-doubt and contradictions in his writing. He invited the local group Shishan Yiwo from Xinpu to work together to create a reality game in Xinpu Town and design a small tour. As for the exhibition, he attempted to break away from the #output model of the past literary season exhibitions and chose to invite local artists to internalize Wu Zhuoliu's works and reproduce them in the form of their respective expertise, including indigo dyeing, glass crafts, face painting, floral design, photography, fiber crafts, visual design, etc.

The event spans the places described in Wu Zhuoliu's books, including #Xinpu, #Guanxi and #Zhubei. Although Wu Zhuoliu did not describe many scenes of his hometown in his writings, and these scenes have changed a lot, it is still meaningful to see the scale of changes in places or the entire world from his time. Take a walk in the old streets of Xinpu, take your children on a "Follow Wu Zhuoliu's Life" tour, or listen to different generations of literati talk about Wu Zhuoliu in Zhubei, learn crafts from participating artists, or even just watch the simultaneous exhibitions in Zhubei and Xinpu. Perhaps you, whose thoughts are constantly flowing, will no longer be homeless and can build roots.
